The municipality of Cluj-Napoca was selected by the European Commission as a pilot city in the NetZeroCities program developed within a partnership formed by the Romanian Order of Architects – Transilvania Branch, Transilvania IT Cluster, Transylvania Energy Cluster – TREC, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca ( UTCN) Babeș-Bolyai University, Urbannect and Cluj Metropolitan Area. Cluj-Napoca is among the 53 pilot cities in Europe for the implementation of an urban transformation model in this sense, to accelerate climate neutrality. Selected pilot cities will be able to experiment with new ways of rapid decarbonisation over a 2-year program – adopting systemic, inclusive and multi-leveraged approaches to transforming urban communities. With the help of the won funding of 1.5 million euros from the European Commission, the strategies implemented at the level of the Cluj-Napoca municipality will then serve as best practice models for the other cities in Europe that aim to achieve climate neutrality. Practically, Cluj-Napoca will implement a common vision with some of the most important European cities such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Milan or Budapest.
During January 16-17, 2023, it took place at Thessaloniki, Greece, launch of the EnTRAINER project, financed by the European Commission through European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) within the program LIFE. The total value of the project is

The consortium is coordinated by the University Aristotle of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and consists of 4 universities and 4 companies with research experience scientific research, the provision of energy services and the implementation of energy efficiency actions.
“Technologies and Techniques to Support Sustainable Education in the Academic Sphere” This research event seeks to encourage a critical dialogue between students, academics and researchers. We aim to promote the student voice within the context of sustainability with a student-centered approach. We also intend to popularise, inspire and share best practices with the purpose of questioning and exploring how to further enhance the learning, teaching and research experience of academics, researchers and students in a digital environment. The event aims to offer a creative space vibrant with participants’ voices debating over innovation and change, thus building a bridge between past achievements, knowledge and expertise, on the one hand, and further investigation, on the other. It is strongly believed that by drawing attention to key educational and pedagogical issues, this academic event will undoubtedly inspire each one of the participants with a clearer vision of the future developments in their respective professional and scientific fields. We are also convinced that the forum will be successful in comunicating its message to wider audiences, thus generating stronger public interest by presenting an attractive image of modern science and education, empowered by the innovative technologies as an indispensable part of the teaching, learning and research process in the shared European Educational space.
